Beyond the Sunset

One year ago I shared this. A little over a week ago, just two days before the anniversary of his death. His dear, faithful wife was also called from this life. God's grace and mercy is sufficient.

Beyond the sunset, O blissful morning.
When with our Saviour heaven's begun.
Earth's toiling ended, O glorious dawning
Beyond the sunset when day is done.

Beyond the sunset, no clouds will gather.
No storms will threaten, no fears annoy.
O day of gladness, O day unending.
Beyond the sunset eternal joy.

Beyond the sunset, a hand will guide me,
To God the Father whom I adore.
His glorious presence, His words of welcome,
Will be my portion on that fair shore.

Beyond the sunset, O glad reunion,
With our dear loved ones who've gone before,
In that fair homeland we'll know no parting.
Beyond the sunset forever more.

Not What; But Whom

Not what, but WHOM I do believe!

That in my darkest hour of need,

Hath comfort that no mortal creed,

No mortal man may give.

Not what, but WHOM!

For Christ is more than all the creeds

And His full life of gentle deeds
Shall all the creeds outlive.

Not what I do believe, but WHOM!
WHO walks beside me in the gloom?

WHO share the burden wearisome?

WHO all the dim way doth illumine,

And bids me look beyond the tomb,

The larger life to live?
Not what I do believe; but WHOM!

Not what,

But WHOM!

In Christ Alone

Oh Christ, in Thee my soul hath found,
And found in Thee alone,
The peace, the joy I sought so long;
The bliss till now unknown.

I sighed for rest and happiness,
I yearned for them, not Thee;
But while I passed my Saviour by,
His love laid hold of me.

I tried the broken cisterns, Lord,
But ah! The waters failed.
E'en as I stooped to drink they'd fled,

And mocked me as I wailed.

Now none but Christ can satisfy,
None other name for me;

There's love, and life, and lasting joy,

Lord Jesus, found in Thee.
