Thoughts...

"...lest Satan should take advantage of us for we are not ignorant of his devices."
The Lord joys in our joy. "For we are the fragrance of Christ..."
O Lord we need you, the devil is seeking to destroy your children. That he may if possible deceive the very elect. The devil is dividing...working over time to divide the body of Christ. We must watch and pray always, and be constantly on guard, holding up the shield of faith. Faith can move mountains. We can't just sit and cry at the mountain, but we must get up and climb it. We need to step forward in faith, that when we do the waters will part before us. They will not part one moment too soon.
"The problem of getting great things from God, is being able to hold on for the last half hour." It was in the last stretch before the Celestial City that the most danger lurks. At the last moment the devil is striving to fool us. To when our guard may be down because we think we're almost there, and that we can relax, it is than that he attacks with renewed fury. Danger on every side. The devil will not tire until he has as many as possible in hell with him.
Oh, God open our eyes that we would see Jesus. Open our ears and help us to listen. Help us to trust You. To not add nor take away from Your Word. But to stand on what it is. All other ground is sinking sand. Keep us faithful.
"Crushed; and yet soaring as on eagles wings."

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Bow the Knee

There are moments on our journey following the Lord
Where God illumines ev’ry step we take.
There are times when circumstances make perfect sense to us,
As we try to understand each move He makes.
When the path grows dim and our questions have no answers, turn to Him.
*Bow the knee;
Trust the heart of your Father when the answer goes beyond what you can see.
Bow the knee;
Lift your eyes toward heaven and believe the One who holds eternity.
And when you don’t understand the purpose of His plan,
In the presence of the King, bow the knee.
There are days when clouds surround us, and the rain begins to fall,
The cold and lonely winds won’t cease to blow.
And there seems to be no reason for the suffering we feel;
We are tempted to believe God does not know.
When the storms arise, don’t forget we live by faith and not by sight.
