I'm Hungry

I’m hungry. Hungry for more. Hungry for change. Hungry for a more productive, fruitful life. Hungry for more grace. Hungry for direction. Hungry for more….a longing to be filled. Filled with His grace. Filled with stamina and strength. Filled with joy. Filled with hope. This hunger is all consuming. Driving me to find food. It’s a nagging ache in the pit of my stomach. A throbbing in my heart. "Lord, I’m hungry, fill me." “Open your hands… open your hands that I may fill them,” came the reply. How do I open my hands? How do I open my heart? How do I open myself to You?

Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.  Psalm 145:16

Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch Him
And say that we love Him.

Open our ears Lord
And help us to listen,
Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus.

Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch Him
And say that we love Him.

Open our ears Lord
And help us to listen,
Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus.

Amen.

Be encouraged, for your longing is a sure sign that God is working in you to satisfy that longing. But be patient, for yours is a hunger that can not be perfectly fulfilled while we are yet here.

"According to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells."

I've been blessed recently by Whoever is Thirsty, by Marty Goetz (audio) (lyrics).

I love you, Christina. (And can relate to this.) Don't stifle that hunger. Keep seeking God with it. He's promised you will be filled. Praying for continued grace for your journey, dear friend!

I hear you here. I often find myself hungry as well. But God never leaves us hungry. He promises always to fill us.
