Ephesians 4:1-7

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

I've been thinking about these verses. Have you ever stopped to think about the depth of meaning to them? Read it through slowly and think about the meaning of each of those words and how it plays out in our lives day to day in fellowship with the believers. I also noted that Paul calls himself here, not a prisoner of the Romans, but of the Lord. Paul saw everything as coming from the hand of God. Have you ever thought about the meaning of the word "beseech". There is a passion and pathos in that word. He is not just asking, he is pleading/begging with his whole heart that we live worthy.
